Huron County Public Health (HCPH) is able to assist the public in obtaining birth and death certificates copies.
HCPH has statewide access to birth certificates and county-wide access to death certificates.

We are not authorized to issue or fax uncertified copies of birth certificates.

To order a birth or death certificate by phone, call the Office of Birth and Death Records at 419-668-1652 ext. 248.
Walk-In/Same Day Service
Huron County Public Health offers certified birth certificate copies for all Ohio counties and certified death certificate copies for deaths occurring within Huron County. Due to a change in Ohio law, only certified copies of birth/death certificates can be issued.
Order same-day certified birth and death certificate copies quickly and easily at our walk-in customer counter at 28 Executive Drive, Norwalk, OH 44857 or by USPS mail, no appointment necessary.

The base fee for all certified certificates that are picked up or mailed is $25.00 per copy. Checks and money orders should be made payable to Huron County Public Health.
All certified birth and death certificates that are mailed are only mailed utilizing certified mail. The fee for certified mailing is $4.28 plus the cost of each certified certificate.
Cash, money orders, and credit/debit cards are also accepted. An additional convenience fee applies to credit and debit card orders.
If you are requesting certificates in-person or mailing in a request, you can save time by downloading and completing the Application for Certified Birth/Death Certificates ahead of time and bringing it with you to the HCPH Vital Statistics Office at 28 Executive Drive, Norwalk, OH 44857
If you are mailing a request, you must download and complete the Application for Certified Birth/Death Certificates. Please remember there is an additional charge to mail.
