The new year has just begun and it is great time for Huron County residents to determine what goals they will focus on this year. Huron County Public Health (HCPH) would like to encourage the county’s current tobacco-users to take this opportunity to make health a top priority and become tobacco-free in 2019. Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States, but quitting has immediate and long lasting health benefits. HCPH’s FREE Community Cessation Initiative (CCI) is now accepting new clients. Huron County residents that are ready to quit using tobacco can take advantage of this program to ensure that this New Year’s resolution is one that they can stick to all year long.
HCPH’s FREE CCI program connects tobacco users with local cessation services. HCPH recognizes that as far as New Year’s resolutions go, quitting is a difficult one and may take multiple attempts. To help, HCPH’s CCI Coordinator will provide personalized support throughout every step of the quitting process, encouraging additional quit attempts, and conveniently reconnecting clients with additional cessation services, if needed.
The New Year is a great time to find the motivation to quit using tobacco. Let HCPH’s CCI program help you commit to going tobacco-free in 2019. Call 567-244-3269 to get started today or visit www.huroncohealth.com/CCI for more information.
CCI is made possible through the Ohio Department of Health (ODH)’s Bureau of Health Promotion’s grant funding; awarded to serve Huron and Erie Counties.
