HURON COUNTY COVID-19 VACCINATION PROGRAM
Huron County Public Health (HCPH) is working to distribute safe, effective COVID-19 vaccines county-wide to those who choose to be vaccinated.
This page is intended to provide residents with information about the vaccine, our distribution plan, and details about when, where, and how COVID-19 vaccines will be available locally.
HURON COUNTY VACCINE UPDATES
IMPORTANT UPDATE: At this time, individuals aged 65 and over who are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine can call Huron County Public Health (HCPH) to schedule an appointment at 419-668-1652 ext.241.
Huron County has been receiving a very limited quantity of vaccines from the Ohio Department of Health (currently about 1,000 doses county-wide per week). We are glad there is such demand from our area to get the vaccine; however, we ask for your patience until a wider supply of vaccine is available. Availability for the groups include in Phase 1B listed below are tentatively slated to begin on the following dates:
Week of January 19, 2021: Individuals aged 80+
Week of January 25, 2021: Individuals aged 75+; those with specific medical conditions* AND a developmental or intellectual disability.
Week of February 1, 2021: Individuals aged 70+ and K-12 personnel
Week of February 8, 2021: Individuals aged 65+
Week of February 15, 2021: Those with specific medical conditions*
*Medical conditions included in this Phase include: cerebral palsy; spina bifida; congenital heart disease; type 1 diabetes; inherited metabolic disorders; severe neurologic disorders including epilepsy; severe genetic disorders including Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Prader Willi Syndrome, Turner Syndrome; severe lung disease including cystic fibrosis and severe asthma; sickle cell anemia; and alpha- and beta-thalassemia.
