Nursing/Medical Division - Family Planning & STD Clinics

The Family Planning and STD clinic is funded, in part, by grants through the Ohio Dept. of Health. Services are provided by appointment only.

The clinic provides services that promote planned pregnancies and healthy sexual practices. Services available include: birth control, education, Pap tests, pregnancy testing and sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing and treatment.

Under Title X guidelines, clients under 18 years of age are not required to have the parent's permission to visit our clinic. However, we do encourage parental involvement. All client information remains confidential. We are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect.

Some of these services are only available at our Norwalk location. Cost is based on income and there may be a minimum fee for some STD services. Medicaid is accepted. Clients eligible for Family Planning services cannot be turned away for inability to pay. Clients do not have to live in Huron County to get Family Planning services.

Huron County General Health District hosts free, confidential HIV/Hepatitis C testing twice a month, each, in our Norwalk and Willard locations. Please call 419-668-1652 x 255 to schedule an appointment.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 for immediate assistance.

We are a BCCP provider (Breast & Cervical Cancer Prevention Program). Call 1-800-655-4707 or log onto http://www.odh.ohio.gov/odhPrograms/hprr/bc_canc/bc_elig.aspx to see if you qualify!
