Community Health - LifeSkills Training®

The Huron County General Health District’s Community Health Division offers the model substance abuse prevention program LifeSkills Training® (LST) to Huron County Schools.

LST was selected by the Huron County General Health District because it has been studied for over two decades and has demonstrated success in reducing tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, and polydrug use among participants. LifeSkills Training® is a model substance abuse prevention program of the U.S. Department of Education, National Institute on Drug Abuse, American Medical Association, Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, American Psychological Association, National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, White House Office of Drug Policy, and the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Attached is additional information on the content and success of the LST program.

Complete the Program Request Form for the LifeSkills Training® Program and fax to 419-668-5423 or email it to ebarman@huroncohealth.com. Schools will be scheduled in the order they respond. We are committed to being as accommodating in the scheduling process as possible.
