About Us - Huron County Board of Health
The Board of Health is the policy and rule-making, body for the Huron County Health Department. The members of the Board are appointed by the District Advisory Council made up of the elected Township Trustees, Mayors and one County Commissioner. The Board of Health is composed of 7 members. The composition of the Board shall reasonably reflect the population makeup of the county and shall include: one physician, licensed to practice medicine in Ohio, one representative of Norwalk, one representative of Willard, one representative of the Licensing Council and three representatives of the general public. All members shall be residents of the county. Members of the Board of Health shall serve five-year terms.
The Huron County Board of Health meets monthly in the Health Department Conference Room. All meetings are announced in advance and are open to the public.
